Smallpox

Smallpox is a highly contagious and often fatal disease. The last documented case of smallpox occurred in Somalia in 1977; however, concerns over bioterriorism have brought the disease back into the spotlight. Currently, vaccination programs are underway within the ranks of the U.S. military and civilian healthcare providers.
